After 26 years working in the printing & marketing industry, redundancy obliged me to ‘burn the suit’ and embrace a lifestyle change. I had always had a yearning to take up dry stone walling, and was attracted by the idea of creating something that will still be part of the landscape many years from now. I am a professional member of the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain and carry out all types of dry stone work including new build, restoration, repair and training. |

One of the best things about walling for a living is the reaction of people I meet for the first time. Everyone responds with genuine interest in my work, how it’s done, and how I got into it. A marked contrast to the glazed expression that used to meet my response to the dreaded “and what do you do for a living”? I am now applying my skills in stonework to stone carvings on commission - see the examples I have recently added to this website.
